Anambra State Education and Issue of Dichotomy : A call for attention
By Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah

In our State today , we have two types of Public Schools.

Ones that were previously owned by the religious organizations like the Churches which were returned to those churches by the past Govt of  Anambra State on what I call Shared Responsibility Arrangement (SRA) between the Churches and the Govt with respect to  managing them.

The second are ones that are owned and managed by the State Govt itself.

The issue now is that while our students attending Govt managed Public  Schools are lagging  behind ,those attending schools managed by the churches are doing better .

Again , research shows that those attending ones managed by the government are children of the low income earners or poor parents .

We must identify the reasons behind this knowledge dichotomy and prescribe measures that will  curb it as that could be potentially consequential of producing two different types of students in one state .

What are the other schools doing right that the Govt managed  schools are not doing ?

A Question we must answer for the sake of our State and posterity.

Friends , Get ready with your ideas as we will soon embark on "Come With Your Ideas Engagement" on topical issues of concerns to our state .
