I wish to congratulate the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) on the occasion of its FIFTY-THIRD YEAR ANNIVERSARY as a reputable professional body established for the sole and clear purpose of sports reportage and promotion.
As an arm of the NUJ, SWAN has really defined the essence of its existence through efficient and effective coverage of sporting events in Nigeria and beyond. Through your reportage and efficient information management, sports loving Nigerians are being continually kept abreast with the latest happenings in sports by promotion of its core values, mission and vision. Sports plays a pivotal role in fostering peaceful coexistence and the impact of SWAN's subsistence has always been felt effervescently, especially in a time like this when the nation needs a unifying factor.
As a Patron of this esteemed organisation and in appreciation for your immense contributions towards the growth of Sports in Nigeria, I celebrate with every member of SWAN nationwide as you mark yet another historic date in the annals of the Sports Industry.
