Nigeria can learn from Igbo Culture ~ Ubah

...Says National Orientation Agency(NOA) should look inward and inculcate the rich Igbo Culture into its operational mechanism.

Ubah who was speaking after the Ohaneze Ndigbo Lagos State organized Maiden Edition of Igbo Unity Day and Cultural Festival at Lagos last weekend stated that

" The beautiful display of our cultural heritage at the Igbo Unity Day and Cultural Festival which we are proud to flaunt anywhere we find ourselves in a sincere reminder of Igbo Cultures and its inherent uniqueness and value is an eloquent testimony to homogeneity of Igbo race"

The Anambra State born goal getter Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah who played a key role in ensuring that the event successfully took place last weekend at the National Stadium Lagos where different components of Igbo Culture were showcased to the world, called for strengthening of the Igbo Culture in order to drive its inherent uniqueness for the betterment of this generation and beyond.

"Igbo Culture has very rich attributes that can help any society. Igbo has this culture that encourages and celebrates hard work . Igbo culture is the culture that honours hard work and our society can be better off if we return to that line that celebrates sincere achievements as against what is obtainable today . We must help to redirect our generation through Cultural rebirth towards recovering our identity as a great people created by a great God" he said.

Any race that loses her Cultural identity is a lost race and I therefore call for the strengthening of Igbo Cultural heritage in order to recreate a culture of hard work in our polity especially now that our system begs for attitudinal change" Ubah said.

The Publisher of the Authority newspapers Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah also called on National Orientation Agency to pay attention to Igbo culture which according to him poses a helping hand in reorientating Nigerians especially now.

"Igbo Cultural heritage can help our country find her way out of a locked up attitude of waiting only for government to act. Igbo culture is that behaviour where our people would move to develop their community without waiting for the Govt. It is a Culture that encourages development. It is a culture that challenges people to be hard working. It is a culture that we all must not let to die and it is a culture that detests violence. It is a culture that has been encouraging democracy even before the coming of the colonial masters. I therefore call on the National Orientation Agency (NOA) to look towards this rich culture for help as the country faces behavioral crisis" Ubah submits.

It is of note that last weekend at National Stadium Lagos saw the best of Igbo culture where so many Masquerades and the likes from various Igbo communities alongside the cultural troupes thrilled the massive crowd which added so much glamour to the festival.

Ubah later thanked those that participated in the event.

"my sincere gratitude goes to all the sons and daughters of Igbo extraction who were present at this momentous event , especially those who came from outside of Lagos State. Special thanks must also go to the illustrious sons and daughters of Igboland who graced this Maiden Festival..."

Ubah who later stated that we should expect greater event during the festive period likely 29th, 30th and 31st December 2016 at FC Ifeanyi Ubah Stadium Nnewi /Ozubulu in Anambra State.
