The Ada Igbo Women Development Initiative, an organisation that projects and advocates for Igbo women and girls' development to contribute positively to themselves and to the society, was shocked to see a video which involved one Ms. Chidimma Okeke; Miss Anambra 2015.
We condemn in its entirety the said video. The act does not portray the true value of an Ada Igbo.
We call on organisations running beauty pageant to lead the girls through the right path to greatness and not exploiting them sexually or otherwise. We also call on the law enforcement agents to conduct proper investigation of the exploitation.
The Ada Igbo Women Development Initiative call on the National and State Assemblies to enact laws that would guide the organisations running the pageants and urge the Anambra State government to ensure that those involved in this ugly act be brought to book.
