PDP Senators Ignore Postponement Elect Bukola Saraki The Senate President

There was a drama in the national assembly as Senator Bukola Saraki from Kwara State emerged the Senate President for the 8th Senate.

ki was returned unopposed by 57 Senators mostly from PDP who attended the inauguration of the 8th Senate today. He was the only candidate that was nominated on the floor of the senate as his contender, Senator Ahmad Lawan and some of his supporters were absent with all the People’s Democratic Party Senators intact. The APC senators who are mostly in support of Senator-Elect Ahmed Lawan were reported to have shunned the event.
